Kprobe

THE K-PROBE® ANALYTICAL PLATFORM

As with XPolar® measurements, XLED analyses are performed using the K-Probe® system developed by Kamax.

This instrument enables the acquisition of precise images of hair fibres and the automatic extraction of dimensional measurements. Unlike methods based solely on longitudinal observation of the hair, XLED technology allows for the analysis of cross-sections of cut fibres.

PRECISE METRIC DATA

This approach provides a more precise interpretation of dimensional changes in the fibre.
It notably enables :

  • the measurement of the fibre’s average diameter (µm)
  • the calculation of the actual cross-sectional area (µm²)
  • the comparison of dimensional variations before and after treatment
These parameters deliver robust quantitative indicators to substantiate volumising and thickening effects in hair care products.
