At Kamax Innovative System, we develop advanced imaging and analytical technologies that reveal,
measure, and quantify the effects of cosmetic products, devices, and dietary supplements on biological fibres.
Our ambition is to transform scientific observation into objective, measurable, and reproducible evidence,
supporting brands and laboratories in the development of ever more high-performing products.
Derived from research conducted at the XLIM laboratory (CNRS) and the University of Limoges,
Kamax technologies now enable the analysis of skin, hair, and keratin fibres with an unprecedented level of precision.
Founded in 2013 in Limoges, Kamax began as a Young Innovative Company (a specific French status granted
to early-stage companies engaged in research and development, offering recognition and support for innovation).
The company specialises in the development of optical technologies applied to the analysis of biological structures.
Kamax originated from research in photonics and scientific imaging conducted at the XLIM laboratory (CNRS).
Since its inception, the company has developed proprietary technologies enabling the analysis of biological
fibres from multiple perspectives :
These technologies provide robust scientific evidence for the evaluation of the efficacy of cosmetic products and devices.
In 2026, Kamax reaches a new milestone with a fresh funding round and
the construction of new facilities in Limoges.
This new phase of development will accelerate the company’s technological innovation,
strengthen its analytical capabilities, and support the expansion of its collaborations
with stakeholders in the cosmetics industry and scientific research.
Jérôme Desroches
Founder &
CEO
Holding a PhD in photonics, Jérôme is behind the technologies developed by Kamax. His work, rooted in academic research, has led to the creation of innovative analytical tools capable of exploring the structure of biological fibres with unprecedented precision.
Florence Cirotteau
Head of Quality &
Regulatory Affairs
Florence is a key pillar of the company, working closely with the executive team. She ensures the quality of processes, regulatory compliance, and the overall smooth operation of the organisation. She also coordinates cross-functional projects, both internally and with external partners, ensuring their consistency and successful execution.
Magalie Mazelier
Head of Studies &
Laboratory Manager
Holding a PhD in biology, Magalie leads the scientific studies. She coordinates experimental protocols, oversees analyses, and ensures the scientific robustness of the results. Her role is central in translating the company’s technologies into reliable and actionable evidence for clients.
Fabien Chatenet
Head of Software &
Technology Development
Fabien is the architect of the software that drives Kamax technologies and enables the exploitation of data generated by the instruments. A specialist in software development and image processing, he designs the tools that transform scientific observations into precise quantitative data.
Melisse Teindas
R&D Intern –
Biological Engineering
A third-year student in a Bachelor of Technology (B.U.T) in Biological Engineering (specialising in Food Science and Biotechnology) at the IUT of Limousin, Mélisse is completing her final-year internship at Kamax. Curious and highly engaged, she is working on the development of a new skin analysis method based on K-Probe®, contributing to the evolution of the company’s technologies and opening up new application perspectives.
Stephanie Esnault
Marketing &
Communication Consultant
Stéphanie has been supporting Kamax for over five years on marketing and communication topics. Specialised in the cosmetics industry, she works closely with the team to make the technologies clearer, more accessible, and better positioned. She ensures that the technologies are understood and adopted, without ever compromising their scientific rigour.
At Kamax, scientific innovation goes hand in hand with responsibility towards society and the environment. Our approach is built around three core pillars.
Responsible
science
Our technologies enable the objective assessment of product effects and enhance the understanding of interactions between treatments and biological structures.
A human-sized
company
Kamax fosters collaboration, scientific curiosity, and knowledge sharing. The company is built on a committed team where expertise and collective spirit are at the heart of innovation.
Reducing environmental
impact
In our daily operations, we strive to minimise our environmental impact by prioritising :
The company KAMAX is accompanied by a group of experts composed of a researcher at the CNRS, biophysicists and doctors in pharmacy. In particular, they bring their skills in the technical development of the imaging platform, the strategic intelligence, their in-depth knowledge of the target markets, which make it possible to better understand the needs of customers.
